Aged for 26 years in 1,000-litre American oak with 90gms/litre residual sugar, the nose is a little smudged and earthy with hints of clove and wood resin. It is taciturn at first, but unfurling nicely in the glass but never intense. The palate is very well balanced and caressing in the mouth. It has lovely poise and harmony with touches of dried honey, cardamom, orange peel and apricot, gentle and long towards the finish . RP 91/100
